Knitting

I think I have been knitting just as long, as I remember myself. Now friends sometimes are bantering that I do it everywhere and at any time. But I know for sure that an item made solely by your hands is definitely warmer than a machine-made one. Perhaps, for this reason machine knitting never attracted me.

There is nothing surprising in the fact that the Northern style, with its austerity and restraint of colors, is the most close to me. On the other hand, it easily allows combining traditions of Northern Russian, Karelian and Scandinavian ornaments. Among its most inspiring motifs you will find images of a deer, a moose, and also some outlandish birds.

It is very pleasant to happen to recognize your mittens and hats just in the street stream of people. And it is also nice to hear that tourists gladly take them away as a souvenir of our Northern land.
